Other Options - Find Database and Find e-Journals

Find Database

Find Database enables you to locate a specific database by title, subject category or other criteria.

Once you have logged in to the Library Portal using either QuickSearch or MetaSearch, select Find Database from the menu at the top of the search screen.

  • Search a single database from the list by clicking the search icon  icon, or add a few databases to your clipboard by clicking the Add to clipboard icon  icon and then search them simultaneously by clicking Go to MetaSearch.
  • Databases which do not have the Search icon  icon cannot be searched using the Portal software. Connect to these databases by clicking on the database title.
  • Change to Brief View to see a description of each database.

Find E-Journal  

Find E-Journal allows you to locate electronic journals by title or category, and to access the full text.

Select Find e-Journal from the menu at the top of the screen. A new window will open.

Enter words from the title of a journal, or select a letter to browse an alphabetical list of titles. You can also select titles by category.

e-Journals can be displayed in Brief View or Table View.

  • Click on an e-journal title or use the Findit  button to locate the full text of the journal.
  • Click on the I icon for information  icon to see further information about a particular journal.
  • Click on the Plus icon  icon to add an e-journal to your own personal list of titles. Note, you need to be logged in to the Library Portal to create your own list of e-Journals. For further information see Creating your own database and e-Journal sets.
