Library Systems Update(August)
Problems with BONUS+ requests have now been resolved, after our server upgrade last week. However, we continue to have some problems with My Library authentication. We are working to resolve these problems and apologise for any inconvenience.

Web 2.0 Easier, faster, friendlier (July)
Want to know how to use free online tools to help you with teaching, learning, research and to do your daily job ? Web 2.0 Easier, faster, friendlier is a free self-paced learning programme running from 23 June - 28 July, open to everyone. A team from the library will show you 14 different Things that can make your life easier.

Opening Hours Changes (June)
From 15th June to 2nd August, the opening hours for Murdoch Campus Library and the Veterinary Library are operating on a different schedule. For more details please see the opening hours page.

Rockingham Regional Campus Community Library- closed from 22nd to 27th June inclusive (June)
Rockingham Regional Campus Community Library will be closed for stocktake from Monday 22nd until Saturday 27th June inclusive. During this period Warnbro and Safety Bay Public Libraries will be open as usual.

Australian Newspapers beta: Historic Australian Newspapers, 1803-1954 (June)
Read all about it! This exciting newspaper digitization project enables full-text searching of newspaper articles in selected historic Australian papers published in each state and territory from the 1800s to the mid-1950s. The first Australian newspaper, published in Sydney in 1803, is included in the Program, as is the Perth Gazette. Access online via the Library Catalogue

Need help in navigating through a maze of subject resources? Had enough of sifting through squillions of Google items? Well, we've already done the hard work for you and now we want to share quality subject resources with you! Join the growing revolution of students and researchers who have already discovered our new and easy to use LibGuides! Look for those with the yellow New icon. Access is also available from under our Shortcuts menu. LibGuides, they're waiting for you.

Extended Library hours on 30th May (May)
On Saturday 30th May, the Murdoch Campus Library will be open from 8am to 5pm. The 24/7 Learning Common is available as usual.
On Monday 1st June (Foundation Day), the Murdoch Campus Library observes its normal opening hours

Daylight Saving Referendum (May)
Will history repeat itself? Does our community think the same way as it did in 1975, 1984 and 1992. Will cows still go Moo if the clocks keep getting fiddled with? Does anybody really go out at 9.30pm and get more exercise? You decide. Saturday 16th May, 2009. Polling is open from 8am to 6pm. See the results of the last referendum held on 4th April, 1992.

Journal Articles & Databases (May)
Check out our new Journal Articles & Databases page! This provides a single point of access to search databases and the Library Portal. The new resource records also include licensing information and authentication requirements. Use the 'Alternative access, on campus only' link to speed up your search.

Oxford Dictionary of National Biography (April)
Want to know the people who shaped the history of the British Isles and beyond from the earliest times? The Oxford Dictionary of National Biography is an illustrated collection of more than 56,600 biographies. Access online via the Library Catalogue or from Electronic Reference by choosing Biographies.

2006 CDATA Online (March)
CDATA is an online tool which combines information on Australian society from the 2006 Census, with web graphing and mapping capability. CDATA Online allows you to create your own tables, maps and graphs of Census data on a range of different topics such as - age, education, housing, income, transport, religion, ethnicity, occupation and more...

Congratulations to all Library staff (February)
The 2008 Murdoch University Library Client Survey results are out, and show an increase in performance scores in all areas since the last survey in 2006. The result places the Library in the top 25% when compared with other Australian university libraries. Thanks to everyone who responded – the lucky winner of the Wii was Bachelor of Communication student Kate Munro. See the full survey results.
