Learning Common (December 2006)
Murdoch University is to establish a 24/7 one-stop shop for student learning services. The Learning Common will be located on North Wing levels 2 and 3 of the Murdoch Campus Library and is a visible indication of Murdoch’s commitment to enhancing the student learning experience. More info...

New Features in the Catalogue (November 2006)
The latest update to the Library Catalogue includes a number of features designed to improve and assist your search experience. Keyword search results are now automatically grouped and ranked by relevance, and search results lists display more information including the full title, item location, call number and availability. You can now add your own ratings to titles as well as see ratings other people have given titles.

ECMS and Reserve Material for Semester 1 2007 (November 2006)
With the development of the Learning Common and entry level refurbishment of the Library, some sections of the collection may not be available during certain periods over the semester break. This makes it particularly important for us to receive Reserve and ECMS requests from Unit Coordinators as soon as possible, to ensure that we can have all material processed before the beginning of Semester 1 2007. Think Well. Be Well. National Psychology Week 2006 (November 2006)
A display will be available at the Murdoch Campus Library on Link Level 3 to promote National Psychology Week, 12-18 November 2006. A positive outlook and healthy mind are essential to getting the most out of life. During National Psychology Week, psychologists throughout Australia will showcase the ways that psychology can make a difference to the quality of people’s lives. Extended Opening Hours for Exams Saturday 11 November (November 2006)
The Library will open at 8 am on Saturday 11 November so that students can use the Library services before their exams start - for last minute photocopying, collecting books to take into open book exams, final revision or just a place to sit and collect their thoughts.

Preparing for Exams? (Oct 2006)
The Library provides access to digital copies of past examination papers which have been released for public access. Go to Find and then Exam Papers on the Library Website.

Curtin Library Offers Computer Access to Reciprocal Borrowers (October 2006)
Murdoch University students can now login and use computers at Curtin University libraries. You can access Murdoch University websites and databases, and use selected databases available at Curtin. To use the computers, select Murdoch from the dropdown menu in the login screen, and login using your Murdoch Username and Password.

Library News August 2006 (August 2006)
The August 2006 edition of the Library's newsletter, Library News, is now available. Pick up a copy from any of the service points within the Library, or read it online.

Which library services are important to you? (August 2006)
How well do we provide them? Complete our Library Client Survey and enter the draw to win a prize. The survey runs from 28 August to 17 September. Prizes include a DVD player, flash drives and vouchers for the Murdoch Bookshop and Murdoch Print.

Referencing Workshops (August 2006)
During the non-teaching break (August 21-25), the Library will be conducting referencing workshops including How to cite references, Referencing with Chicago style and Referencing with APA style. Bookings are essential.

Linking to Databases (June 2006)
Academic staff can now link from their WebCT page or electronic document to journal articles in databases that the Library subscribes to. Follow the instructions to create enduring links.

Catalogue and Database Access: Authentication Restored (May 2006)
Authentication using your Murdoch Username and Password has been restored. Murdoch staff and students, MIT and OUA students may now login using their Murdoch Username and Password for off campus database access, ECMS, and My Library.

Institutional Digital Repositories@Murdoch – the RUBRIC Project (April 2006)
The Library is part of the RUBRIC Project which is a DEST funded project to establish institutional research repositories. This collaborative initiative is designed to allow universities to digitally collect, manage, disseminate and access research information.

New resource: Current Protocols (April 2006)
The Library now has access to the Current Protocols series from Wiley Interscience, online step-by-step guides to laboratory methodology in a range of sciences. The protocols are updated quarterly to ensure coverage of the latest innovations in laboratory procedures as they occur.

New resource: Times Digital Archive (March 2006)
The Library now has access to facsimile images of the complete digital edition of The Times (London) for the period 1785-1985. The entire newspaper is captured, with all articles, advertisements and illustrations/photos divided into categories to facilitate searching.

New resource: Defining Gender (March 2006)
This resource is being published in five sections between 2003 and 2007. The resource includes more than 60,000 images of original documents relating to gender studies from 1450-1910, linked to essays by leading scholars in the field. The images have been sourced from libraries and archives worldwide.

Authentication for Murdoch Students and Staff (February 2006)
Murdoch students and staff members will now be able to use their Murdoch Username and Password for all functions which previously required a Library PIN, including My Library, ECMS, requesting books, and off campus access to Databases.

New Look for our Catalogue (February 2006)
You can still search by author, title, keyword or other options but our Catalogue has changed in presentation. Links are also available from the catalogue to Electronic Course Materials, Other WA Libraries, and Libraries Australia. An enhancement is the inclusion of pictures of the covers of our New Books.
