Trial Database - TVNews (Nov 2007)
TVNews indexes Australian television news, current affairs and selected documentaries from the free-to-air networks with links to the digitised video content in a compressed format. All individual stories from a particular broadcast are indexed with a detailed synopsis. TVNews is updated daily. Content is available from August 2007.
Off campus access (Murdoch staff and students only) requires Murdoch username and password.
Learning Common (Nov 2007)
The Learning Common will remain open 24/7 over summer except for during the University shutdown. It will close on 21 Dec at 12 noon and reopen at 8 am on 2 Jan.

Podcast Tours now Available (Aug 2007)
Have you ever tried a Podcast? Did you miss out on a Library tour? Try our new Library Tour Podcasts, an alternative way to learn about the library. Use an mp3 player while you walk around listening to the audio that has been put together by our staff. You can opt for an entire library tour or just one particular floor.
24/7 Access to the Learning Common (July 2007)
From Monday 30 July you can use the Learning Common 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The 24/7 area is on Link Level 2. After hours entry is off the ECL Courtyard, using your University Card. If your card was issued before the start of Semester 1 2007, you may need a new card. Please ask at the IT Service Counter.
Learning Common Open (July 2007)
The new Learning Common was officially opened by the Minister for Education, Science and Training, the Hon Julie Bishop MP on Friday July 6 2007. The Learning Common is part of a major redevelopment of the
University Library, and provides a "one-stop-shop" for students with a central service precinct, an attractive venue and workspaces aimed at student interaction. More information and photos
Problems using the catalogue? (May 2007)
The Library Catalogue sometimes displays ‘404 error not found’ when using Internet Explorer. To overcome the problem please click ‘Refresh’ and then ‘Retry’, or use a different browser such as Firefox.
Education and Virtual Worlds – Second Life seminars (May 2007)
The Library and the Teaching and Learning Centre present Lindy MacKeown talking on Action Learning in Second Life.
Discovering Second Life - hands on workshops are being run in the library PC labs until July. They cover “Getting your avatar” and “Doing more with your avatar”. All the University community is welcome. Bookings required.
Murdoch Campus Library - Big Changes Underway (Jan-June 2007)
Between November 2006 and the end of June 2007 there will be major works carried out in the Murdoch Campus Library, including re-roofing of the North Wing, a total refurbishment of North Wing levels 2 and 3 to accommodate the new Learning Common and the relocation of collections. We will post progress updates on our website as well as tips for Library patrons to minimise the impact of the building work.
Australian Financial Review Coverage in Factiva Ceases (April 2007)
From April 1 2007 Factiva will no longer have full text coverage of Fairfax Business Media Sources including the Australian Financial Review, BRW and Financial Review Smart Investor. The withdrawal of full text is a commercial decision by the publisher, Fairfax Business Media.

SFX Find It links in Google Scholar (February 2007)
Google Scholar users will now be able to link directly to the full text of journal articles to which the library has electronic access. Look for the SFX Find It links in your Google Scholar search results. Check here for further details.
IT Service Desk Moves to South Wing Level 1 (January 2007)
The IT Service Desk has moved to room 1.013 South Wing Level 1 of the Murdoch Campus Library. This will be a temporary location until the new service counter is completed on North Wing Level 2.
