Murdoch Campus Library Refurbishment 2006-07

Between November 2006 and May 2007 the Murdoch Campus Library will undergo some major changes. Regular updates will be posted here to keep you informed of progress.

  1. Learning Common
Building refurbishment with installation of the new Learning Common

  2. Collection Relocations
Much of the collection was reshelved in preparation for the Learning Common development. The collections were reshelved into single DDC sequences for both books and journals (except for the J 500s and J 600s and the Law collection 340s). This should make it easier to locate items in the Library in future. Check here for details.

To Help You During the Changes

The Library will put into place mechanisms to help minimize disruptions. Check this website frequently for tips and updates.

Building site too noisy?

Some students are finding the adjacent building works too noisy. There are a few strategies to help:

Reserve books
Loan limit has increased to two items for 2 hour loans from Reserve (which is currently adjacent to building works). These books may be taken to areas in the South Wing are not affected by building, or out of the Library.

Silent zone
The entire floor on South Wing Level 2 is the Library’s ‘Silent Zone’. Library users are asked to use other areas in the building unless they plan to be completely quiet.

IT Service Desk

The IT Service Desk has moved temporarily to room 1.013, South Wing Level 1 of the Library. Please go here to get your student ID card and for all IT related enquiries
