2008 Library Client Survey

What we are doing to improve services

Since the report was received, staff have been identifying areas for possible improvement. A number of specific issues are currently under investigation, and discussions with staff and students in particular areas will be held to help clarify current problems and possible solutions.

Collections

We will increase the number of copies of textbooks purchased for Reserve to a maximum of three, with extra copies acquired if required for very large classes. We will also make it easier for library users to recommend items for purchase. Liaison librarians will also evaluate the need for new material in areas identified as lacking.

Facilities

We will install additional power points for use with laptops. We are investigating means of improving access to the 24x7 Learning Common area at the South Street main library, and are also looking at how we might increase the availability of group study facilities, and quiet areas. We are looking at how to improve photocopying and printing services at Peel.
