Requesting material for External/OUA students
The above services are only available to Eligible Students – check here for eligibility. Requesting Books for LoanUse the library catalogue to request up to 8 books (except Reserve items).
N.B. any overdue loans will block submission of your request.
Checking the Progress of Your Request
When your requested item is available, it will display in your checked out items and no longer appear under requests. Don’t forget to allow time for postal delivery.
When the book is due for return, please use the postage paid label provided. If you have any queries regarding your request, please contact Document Delivery staff on 08 9360 2100 or ill@murdoch.edu.au.
Requesting Books from BONUS+You can use
Your books will be delivered in the same way as books requested from Murdoch University Library. Check the BONUS+ webpage for more information about using BONUS+.
Requesting Books from ReserveReserve items are available on a short term loan of two weeks. They should be requested using the Reserve request form.Please fill in as much information as you can, especially details of the specific edition you want, so that we can get the correct book for you. When we have processed your request, the book will show in your Checked Out items in My Library. When we have processed your request – the book will show in your Checked Out items in My Library. If for some reason we are not able to send you a reserve item, we will email you a copy of the contents page, and you can select 1 chapter (or up to 10%) of the book to be scanned and emailed to you in pdf (the limited amount is a provision of The Copyright Act s.49).
Requesting Digitised Copies of Journal ArticlesBefore making a request, check ECMS for any journal articles listed under your unit code: the one you want may already be available in digital format for you to download.You may also find that the article is in one of the many journals available online via the Library Portal or Journal Articles & Databases. If you are unsure about searching for online journals, please use our Ask A Librarian service. If you still cannot find the article you want, or if we only have the journal in print format, a copy of the article will be scanned and emailed to you in pdf. Copies of journal articles and book chapters held only in print form at Murdoch University Library will be supplied to you by email. Please submit your request on the Document request form. N.B. The Copyright Act (s.49) states that you may request only one article from any one issue of a journal – however, you may request more than one article from an issue if they are all required for the same topic of study or research.If you have any queries regarding your request, please contact Document Delivery staff on 08 9360 2100 or ill@murdoch.edu.au.
Requesting Digitised Copies of Book ChaptersBefore making a request, check ECMS for any book chapters listed under your unit code: the one you want may already be available in digital format for you to download. If the chapter you want is not available in ECMS, please submit your request on the Document request form.N.B. The Copyright Act (s.49) states that you may request the copying of no more than 1 chapter (or 10%) of any one book.
