Electronic Course Materials Service

Procedure for submitting material

All material submitted must comply with the Copyright Act 1968. Please check the Electronic Course Materials Service Guide for details on how much can be copied.

To submit your material:

  • First time users should read the Instructions for filling in the request forms.
  • Submit the electronic request form. You will receive an acknowledgement by return email. Attach electronic copies to this and email it back to the Library, or
  • Take a copy of the completed request form and an electronic copy of the document(s) on CD to the Library, or
  • Use the electronic request form, and note that the document has been requested via LIDDAS in the comments box on the bottom of the form. Include the ILL number of the request. When you receive the LIDDAS notification email that the document has arrived, forward it to ECMS staff at reserve@murdoch.edu.au, who will collect the document on your behalf.

Instructions for filling in the request forms

Please check the special format requirements for the submission of documents.

Step 1

  • Select the appropriate request form for the Murdoch campus or the Rockingham campus. There are separate forms for adding book chapters and articles, and other material such as lecture notes and assignment solutions.
  • If your unit is taught at Murdoch and Rockingham campuses, please use the Murdoch campus form.
  • Enter your staff number and Murdoch Password.
Step 2
  • Fill in your details and the Unit details.
Step 3
  • Fill in the details related to publication/s you wish to place on ECMS. If submitting a large number of items, please indicate clearly the priority in which they should be loaded. This will allow ECMS staff to load them in priority order.
  • For copyright management purposes please supply full citation details for all items.
  • For printed material held at Murdoch University Library, please give the call number. You do not need to provide copies.
  • For material available electronically in the Library's Journal Databases, please supply the database name on the form.
  • For material available freely on the Internet, give the title and author of the material and the URL.
  • For material such as lecture notes, give the title and date of the lecture.
Step 4
  • Click on the Submit button to send your request to the Library.
  • You will receive an acknowledgement of your request by email.

  • Option 1. Submitting an electronic copy as an email attachment
    • Attach electronic copies of documents to the acknowledgement email.
    • Forward this email to ECMS, at reserve@murdoch.edu.au

  • Option 2. Submitting the electronic copy on CD ROM
    • Print out the acknowledgement you receive by email.
    • Attach this to your CDROM containing the electronic copies of the documents, and forward to the Reserve Section of the Library.

  • Option 3. Submitting material requested on LIDDAS
    • When you receive the email notifying you that the document has arrived, forward to ECMS at reserve@murdoch.edu.au

  • Option 4. Submitting printed materials for scanning by ECMS staff.
    If any of the requested material is not held by the Library, you will need to supply good quality photocopies of the original items.
    • Print out the acknowledgement you receive by email.
    • Attach this to your photocopies of the original items, and forward to the Reserve Section of the Library.
