Transnational Students

Welcome to the Library!

Murdoch University transnational students are entitled to use most of the Library's electronic resources and some library services.

In many cases, library services are provided by our transnational partners and it is recommended that you contact your course coordinator to see if arrangements are already in place with a local library.

External students living offshore should refer to Library Services for External Students which includes the supply of documents from Murdoch University Library and in some cases other libraries.

Transnational Access to Resources

Murdoch University Staff and Students may access most of the Library's electronic resources such as databases, journals, reference works and ebooks from off campus. You will be prompted to enter your Murdoch Username and Password.

The Library's databases include indexes to journal articles and full text collections of materials such as journals, newspapers, statistical publications, encyclopaedias and legal materials.

You can search the databases for information on specific subjects, using key words or concepts relevant to your research topic.

Find Articles & Databases are accessible from the Library Home Page.
Use the Select a Database by Subject option to locate databases relevant to your subject area.

Use the Library Portal to search up to 15 databases at once.

The Library Catalogue includes an expanding number of e-books, which you may access.

LibGuides

Document Delivery

From the Murdoch Collection From Other Libraries
We can provide electronic copies of journal articles or book chapters where we have the item in print only. Postgraduate students may also request electronic copies of book chapters and journal articles from other libraries through Murdoch's Document Delivery service.
There is no charge for this service.

Please click to request the electronic supply of documents.

All document delivery requests must comply with copyright restrictions.

Citing Your References

It is essential that any references used in your research projects are cited correctly. A comprehensive bibliography is an indication of how widely you have read for the topic. This record also allows any relevant papers to be found at a later date.

The Library's publication, How To Cite References, outlines a number of citation systems.

Please remember that there are specific citation rules for electronic resources. The guides give examples of these materials.

Exam Papers

Exam papers are listed under the unit code in use at the time of the exam.
  • Unit codes changed in 2004. To find papers prior to 2004, select the current unit code, then select the code listed under "Previous Unit Code".
For example, earlier papers for FOU105 Structure, Thought and Reality are listed under the unit code A105.
  • If you know the previous code for a unit you can check Exam papers listed by previous codes (pre 2004).
  • Not all exam papers are made available; if the paper you need is not here, it has not been released.
  • Only papers for the current and previous 5 years are available.
  • Off campus Access: login with your Murdoch Username and Murdoch Password
