[ Top ] My library PINReciprocal Borrowers, Community Members, Alumni and some contract staff members will need to use a PIN for some Library transactions, as a security measure to protect your personal information and to ensure your Library account is not misused.These patrons will need a PIN to login to My Library, recall a book, and to access the Library's databases from off campus (Alumni and contract staff members only. Conditions apply). You will need to make up a PIN for yourself, and enter it into the Library system. More information... Note: Murdoch students and staff members do not need to use a PIN, you will be asked for your Murdoch Password whenever a security measure is necessary. [ Top ] My Murdoch PasswordTo use University computer and network resources, you need to login with your Murdoch Username and Murdoch Password. This Password will be the initial password for you to use on most systems and services.Students and staff are allocated a secure Murdoch password. The Murdoch Password is sent to all students before they commence their studies. You may change this password. If you do not have one, or forget your Password, please contact the iT Service Counter. Staff members can apply for an email address using the Staff Email Application Form. [ Top ] My photocopy/printing PINThe Monitor photcopying system requires a PIN to access funds for photocopying. Swipe your card through the card reader beside the copier or printer. The first time you use your card for copying you will be asked for a PIN. Enter a four-digit number, press ENTER, re-enter the number and press ENTER again. Every time you use your card you will need to enter the PIN only once. If you forget your PIN number, contact the IT Service Desk Counter in the Murdoch campus library on North Wing Level 3 (near the main entrance).More information... It is called podcasting because it was originally created for iPods and is a form of broadcasting.Do I need an iPod?Absolutely not. In order to take the podcast with you, you can load it onto any MP3 player, but you can also choose to simply listen to it online or download it onto your computer at home. You will need to bring your MP3 player's USB cord with you if you want to download them in the Library.How much does it cost?The library podcasts are free!Why a podcast tour?Why not?! Some people learn better through audio, others learn better visually and some people learn better through doing something. By creating these podcasts and the transcripts that go with them, we’re accommodating for all three learning styles! You can listen to our instructions, read it for yourself on the transcript as you walk, and learn by doing by walking around the library and seeing it all for yourself .[ Top ] Special CollectionThe Library's Special Collections area houses archival material of special significance to the University and research collections. The variety of material includes University publications, rare books, popular culture materials and donated collections. There is a large amount of manuscript material, much of it associated with the donations.Special Collections are held in a closed area.
