GeneralWhat is LIDDAS?LIDDAS is the Library's service for document delivery and external copy requests.LIDDAS can be used to request items from other libraries and track the progress of your requests. LIDDAS is an acronym for Local Interlending and Document Delivery Administration System. What copyright conditions apply?A request for a photocopy or a microform copy must comply with the Australian Copyright Act. Under the Act, libraries are authorised to supply a photocopy or other reproduction as long as the copy is not used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship or research and that the amount that is copied is in accordance with copying limits laid down by the Act. These "fair dealing" limits are as follows:

Please submit your registration form before establishing a payment account, in the additional information field on the registration form state that you intend to establish a payment account. [ Top ] What Can I Request?What can I request?Generally libraries will lend material with a record in the Libraries Australia catalogue.This includes books, audiovisual material, ephemera and kits. Extremely valuable, rare or very fragile works are usually not available for loan. Libraries will supply copies of individual journal articles, book chapters and conference papers in compliance with the Australian Copyright Act.
What if an item is only available from outside Australia?Requests for photocopies of journal articles, conference papers and book chapters will be automatically requested from overseas if they are not available in Australia.

[ Top ] Technical InformationInformation for Mac usersThe recommended browser for Mac users is Internet Explorer 5.1.7 or higher.You will need to load a TIF plugin for your browser. For more information, check the Document Viewing instructions. The library has purchased some copies of a suitable plugin, and you can get this software by contacting the IT Service Desk. Browser requirementsThe recommended browser for LIDDAS is Internet Explorer 6 or higher. Mac users will need to use Internet Explorer 5.1.7 or higher. Some users have reported difficulties using Firefox, if you experience similar problems please use another browser.Only the first page of my TIF document appears when I click on my item. Help!There will be an arrow on either the top or bottom of your screen. Click on the arrow and the next page will appear. If there is no arrow, it may be that you need to modify Quicktime on your machine. If you are using a Macintosh, you may need to obtain the TIF viewer from the library.
